Paul Scott Photography Biography
When Paul Scott was growing up, he watched, fascinated, as the demographics of his suburb changed and Australia underwent a significant cultural shift.
“As a child I was right in the middle of many new influences, meeting kids who came from different backgrounds,” he says. “I would be invited over and suddenly find myself in the middle of an Italian dinner with 30-40 people, all of us having a great time.”
Those early experiences led to a lifetime of fascination with different cultures, today, his curiosity about people drives his photography. Whether in the corporate world or humanity itself, Paul is endlessly interested in languages, people and how they behave and interact.
“It’s all about relationships,” he says. “I really enjoy bustling, lively, energetic places and people. Relationships in good health look similar regardless of the type of family, whether it’s your loved ones or your work colleagues.”
Paul has spent his career shooting for some of Australia’s top organisations, working in environments as diverse as corporate head offices, oil rigs, mining and industrial sites and the studio for designers, advertising agencies and directly with clients. He’s experienced in building quick rapport with his subjects, collaborating across all levels of any organisation. Part of the joy of photography for him is striving for the best image possible, regardless of the situation and subject matter.
